Spencer Huggett from Rohan Palmer's lab at Emery University led an investigation of the association between alternative mRNA splicing an opioid use disorder (OUD). Using publicly available RNA-seq data he found genes that were alternatively spliced across reward circuits, but no association between splicing and heritability of OUD.
