The National Science Foundation (NSF) has awarded a new grant to the Kaun Lab and NSF collaborator Dr. Sarah Certel (University of Montana) and US-Israel Binational Science Foundation (BSF) Dr. Galit Shohat-Ophir (Bar Ilan University). This NSF-BSF Collaborative Research grant 2420654 entitled "State-dependent properties of co-transmitting neurons" will identify mechanisms that regulate co-transmission, and identify how these mechanisms are dynamically regulated by the animal's social environment, in both females and males. In the Kaun Lab, this work will be spearheaded by postdoctoral associate Dr. Lewis Sherer.
