A multi-lab collaboration came to fruition this morning as Kristin Scaplen's manuscript "Transsynaptic mapping of mushroom body output neurons" became available on bioRXiv. This work, done in collaboration with Mustafa Talay, John Fisher and Alar Sokac from Gilad Barnea's lab at Brown University, Raffi Cohn from his time at the Rockefeller University and Yoshi Aso from Janelia Research Campus, maps the targets from the mushroom body output neurons in the Drosophila brain using trans-Tango. This effectively provides an anatomical framework for understanding how memories are formed and may become updated in the brain.
New pre-print from Dr. Scaplen et al.
