New work on choice behavior!

Congratulations to graduate student Sam Stea and his co-authors Dr. Tariq Brown, Dr. Rebecca Oramas, Dr. John Hernandez and Reza Azanchi on their new manuscript 'Characterizing choice behavior in Drosophila olfactory classical conditioning' recently accepted to the Journal of Experimental Biology. This paper is a team effort initiated by Reza and Tariq, and completed by Sam, which provides in-depth analysis of the behaviors flies display when they are making a choice between two odors: one of which was previously paired with a reward (sugar) or punishment (shock). This new easy-to-use assay is a great way to measure subtle differences in behaviors displayed when a fly is remembering an event.
