Notebook and Pen

Science writing can be intimidating and there are lots of tricks of the trade. I started this blog because I realize that these tricks of the trade aren't that easy to find. Here are some posts that might help explain some of the questions that have popped up as I've learned how to write and teach students how to write for a scientific audience. Most of the postings are based on lessons I teach in my Neurogenetics course, which uses reiterative writing practices and peer feedback to learn topics in the field of Neurogenetics, and on conversations I've had with mentees in my role as a principal investigator of a lab.

If you find this helpful, please feel free to send me a quick email requesting a topic you'd like me to post about (karla_kaun(at)brown.edu).
