The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) awarded the Kaun, O'Connor-Giles and Larschan labs a collaborative 5 year R01 Grant to investigate the molecular basis of polysubstance use. The goal of this work is to understand how high alcohol or nicotine preference influences how methamphetamine affects gene regulatory networks in memory circuits. We will be using a combination of behavioral, functional genetic and multiomic analysis to identify and test how key gene regulatory networks influence plasticity.
We will be hiring a senior staff scientist with experience in molecular biology and/or single cell sequencing and a technician with experience working with Drosophila. Keep an eye out for the posting in Jobs@Brown!
